Be Bold as a Lion

Proverbs 28:1 says “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”  I wonder how poor decisions impact peoples confidence.  I wonder how many times I have cowered in fear because of my sin.  Sin effects the deep dark layers of our life.  It effects not only the people around us but effects our thoughts and our well- being.  The scripture tells us that we are paranoid because of our wickedness.  If you lay awake at night thinking what if my sin is exposed, most likely your sin is effecting your well- being.  These effects can drive people crazy! People will go to great lengths to try to not get caught only to flee from shadows that may or may not be there.  But the righteous, those that live in the grace of God, allow God to rule and reign in their heart and minds.  The righteous are as bold as a lion.  Have you ever seen a lion not sleeping at the zoo in the middle of the day.  The lion is the highest in the food chain it doesn’t worry about being eaten.  It doesn’t have a care in the world.  It doesn’t matter if they are in the open or under the brush they are bold.  There is no fear.  When God’s people walk in the light and walk in a manner worthy of the gospel they can be bold as a lion.  As 1 Cor. 15:34 says, “Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning.”  Be bold, be a lion church.
